Must post this before I go to sleep.
Was travelling on my way back from Lipter's when this is what I saw on my fuel metre.

Can you see the light on? Left hand towards the bottom of the pointer? Meaning extremely low on fuel. What if hor.. no more fuel in the middle of the expressway? Haha... In fact it lighted up while I was just about to turn out of the roundabout in Clementi Central. All the way from there to Bishan.... exciting !
Anyway.. got home safely. Will get some petrol tomorrow before going to work.
Pling introduced this place to me after catching the Change of Guards.
Regarding the COG and to quote Chee Kuan, yes standards have dropped. And if I may add, drastically. I don't normally single out individuals for criticism but this time round, screw it. The contingent commander for the new guards was horrible. He needs additional drill lesson from MWO Amar Singh. His basics were not quite there and at times looked rusty and nervous. Very unbecoming of an officer. And it's not as if he's a new bird. Got his second bar and counting towards ORD.
Anyway.. while the parade was horrible, the food after that was good. As I was saying, Pling brought me there. At first glance, the Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) bears an uncanny resemblance to another restaurant chain in Singapore famous for its fish and chips, raisin garlic rice and buttered mussels.
A cosy environment and is very much likable for its heartfelt effort to replicate the pier-side dining atmosphere found at restaurants by the sea. We were led right into the heart of the eatery, where we could lounge near a big, flat-screen TV showing documentaries of underwater life.
Our orders arrived promptly. We dived head first into the hearty starters of Cream of Mushroom Soup. Not too bad though not the very best that I've tasted.
Pling ordered a Flaming Seafood Platter.

This is a must-try for seafood lovers who would like to sample a variety of items: Deep-fried dory fish fillet, and prawns served with chips and garlic rice. The prawns were topped with a miso-mayonnaise mix and then flamed with a torch right before our eyes and hence the "flaming". The melted, sweet and sticky sauce complemented the sliced prawns. I think I will get a platter for two on my next visit there.
I had herbal fish. It's not something that I will eat it on it's own. You must have it with rice.

The garlic rice was delicious: Non-greasy, firm and very tasty. And nope.. you don't get a piece of sliced prawn. I got it from the platter. =)
Interesting place with service. Will defintely return some day.

I'm a beer lover but somehow don't quite like Hoegaarden. But the price at $7.80 a pint might just make me reconsider trying out more.. and who knows? Learn to like it?
I'm still very much a German beer lover.. shit.. and Oktoberfest's just ovver.. siao liao...
