By no means was it easy. Four years of hard work, lots of laughter, lots of tears. But finally you made it.
As your names were read out,you took to the stage, one by one. A smile , a handshake, a snapshoot of that moment. The world seemed to stop as you relish that very second.

He was seated among the crowd. Admist the applause, he paused for a moment. His eyes were on you. As you mounted the stage........ with the projecter screen displaying your name, the reality sank in.

She was next to him throughout. Smiling and beeming with pride. She knew that you've made it.

Just as you walked towards them after the National Anthem, he smiled. A smile of relief, a smile of joy. This moment is for him to relish for the rest of his life.
As I made my way out, I saw it. I saw the sparkle, the sparkle in his eyes.
A Priceless moment .
I hate it ....
How are you going to expect others to understand what are your trying to convey??
I am not trying to conduct some " speech lessons" or " effective communication class" ( I'm not qualified). But if someone keeps telling you " They are the ones..." or in local colloquial context, " They all say one...", I don't think how much more informative can that be.
In fact, almost everybody, if not all , can come under the term " They all", " Them" and so on.
So please... who is they all huh?
Have been informed by a friend that just did his reservist that all reservists will have to do the necessary alterations to their uniforms. This would include changing the name tag, an additional "Singapore" tag, formation signs, vocation signs and whatever badges one have. Did I leave out any?
My uncle told me that the old SAF Temasek green uniformed consists of such bells and whistles too.. but the moment they decided to change to the camo uniform, they were removed. Or should I say, left out.
It seems to me that this decision by the top is a step backwards. Or is that suppose to be some fashion statement? Retro ah?
Don't think I'm going to spend my money yet.... they better issue us with these stuff....
Then again, I still see old time Corporals, those with 2 stripes....
Was flooded with lotsa emails today. Seems to me that every single detail is insufficiently managed. Complains after complains.
Doesn't sound like a very efficient organisation ?
I would prefer to take a step backwards, look at the big picture. Does it matter so much to you that if a red marking or blue marking is used? I believe what matters more is that the job gets done.
Take a step back, look around. I'm sure the view will be different.
Finally saw a mail and it's a complain mail.. ah...
It's close to 10 am in the morning and my Inbox does not consisit of a single unread mail; in fact there's no new mail today. This is so strange. Or perhaps everyone's in Friday mood, everything's a tad slower?
Hopefully I won't get a last minute onslaught of emails just before leaving office this evening
If you noticed my prolonged absence in this blog, then you're right.
Did thought of closing down the blog for good; afterall I don't blog regularly. I do feel lethargic at times; or instances whereby I have difficulties expressing in words. You know pictures do tell more than thousand words. I can always upload a picture, however, I'm not that compulsive with my camera (phone). My K750i is foremost a means of communication (calling and receiving phone calls and of course sms). Next, it is my music player, my game machine then my camera. And in that order you know.
And why do I still choose to return ? Actually I also don't know. Just felt like penning a few words, or should I say type? I don't follow blogs regularly , except a few like mrbrown. Only to find out that he was given a slap on the wrist for crossing the line.
I believe enough've been said of this incident and I shan't go into it.
I won't allow "excessive work" to be an excuse for this absence, (sidenote: My manager just informed me that I have to make a trip to JB tomorrow; it's another rush rush day for me)this is something to be expected as we embarked on working life. If you don't talk about job satisfaction, at least you talk about renumiration. However, if both components are not aplenty, at least one will do.
How often do we hear of people tolerating the unpleasant stuff at work just because the pay is good? I think I always hear that although the more common complain would be that " I deserve more for my work" or " I'm defintely underpaid".
Just read that a former director of Seagate actually gave up her five-digit pay to assume a teaching position at a primary school. I admire her for that and wish her well. I personally think that we need more people like her. This world is getting too materialistic. I wish I could one day say I work for my own passion.
