Maths

Was at McCafe yesterday. It was meant to be a impromtu outing, just to hang around.

Christina was there, busy with her Maths. This reminded me of the day whereby she was asking Nicholas how to do certain Maths questions and also reminded me of my days in Secondary School whereby A Maths was such a terror.

I'm glad that I need not attempt anymore of such questions.

However, that didn't stop me from trying out a sum or two. Of course, seeing that I am (still) able to arrive at correct answers and spot her mistakes, I went on to help Christina with whatever questions that she had difficulties.

It was fun no doubt about it. However I'm still convinced that I won't make a good teacher. You won't see me joining MOE as one.

Happy Belated Birthday

This post is for Singapore.

I didn't have a choice when I was born a Singaporean. Likewise, I didn't have a choice when I was brought up here.

However, that started off our "love affair".

I recived my education, made many friends and served my obligations in the military. I carry a pink card that states my nationality as a Singaporean.

I have a job, place to live, good live; in fact the list goes on.

But just like all realtionship, there's defintely disagreements.

I don't like the way things are operating at the moment; everything here is just about money.

I don't see why $2.8 million should be paid to the President, I don't see why transport costs should go up when the companies are racking in huge profits. I cannot understand how can one's performance at 19 years old give him such an advantage that he can carry it with him ( plus bonus) till he retires.

While I am not a supporter of the opposition, there are certain valid points that I believe are very essential to the future of our conuntry. Please stop that arrogance and listen to the ground. Just like the dedicated teacher in school, whom never fails to bark at you when you're going off-course, or would you prefer the bo chap one that comes to class on time and does nothing ? Have you heard of the saying that " to scold is to love?"

I have tried in all to serve the community. I have submitted four applications but well all I got is rejection.

But it doesn't matter, for all the disagreemtns, dissapointments and rejections that I have experience, my dear Singapore, I still believe in you.

And I hope you believe in me too....

Happy Birthday =)
