Within the System

Someone up there realised that I have a blog.

While it has always been my policy not to blog on work related matters, somehow, the "order" is to minimise if not stop blogging altogether. This is to be on the "safe" side.

I guess it is the same with every system, there are some grey areas that are best left as it is or to "err on the safe side". I'm not saying that I will stop blogging altogether. I mean, any sane person reading this might find the contents dull and boring. You seldom see pictures, the language used is in a mess and more often than not, at least recently, it's all about negative emotions and stuff.

Does it portray a negative image of a member of the organization? I mean, yes I agree there's nothing known as a "private blog" unless I choose to lock or set a password to all my entries. But yeah... err on the safe side?

It's very interesting to think so, after all, we live and work in an extremely KS environment. Is this a problem with the system? Or is there a SOP that prevents members of this organization from blogging? I don't think it's the latter. You see many blogs by my colleagues and in public domain as well; just that nothing official. One won't even know which organization that we belong to if one doesn't know the person.

Should I just play safe and leave blogging altogether? After all, many did.

Addendum: It's just the manner in which the "message" was delivered. The person that spoke is what we would describe as a Chinese Helicopter. That explains it. As long as nothing is revealed and no damage is done to the organization, I don't think people up there would want to interfere. Don't think they that free too la... =)
