The decision to remove N & N eggs off the shelves of supermarts is defintey a kiasu move. However, these are the measures that actually ensure that what we buy off the shelves are fit for consumption.

The Straits Times has actually published an article as a guide on how to identify these eggs. Bad eggs should I say. There aren't many local brands of eggs actually. In fact, I don't suppose I will notice the eggs that I buy. Well, ST has pointed out that N & N eggs are marked with the Chinese Characters "安安". Should you see these characters, return the eggs to NTUC fairprice.

However, if you do not know Chinese, I suppose by recognising these 2 characters would be sufficient. You can treat it as a logo or some kind of design.

It brings me to my main point. You can actually see the importance of Chinese in this whole episode.

You have to know Chinese in order for you to identify the bad eggs.
